My Love Affair with Online BlackjackWhen I sat down to write this article, I must admit that my mind was blank.
I mean, everything that every budding online Blackjack player needs to know has
pretty much been written about on this website.
So scratching my head, I pondered where to from here. Then it hit me. How about
writing a short article about my first experience playing online Blackjack at an
online casino?
Great idea, I thought, and sure enough the words began to flow like the legs
of cocktail
waitresses in Las Vegas. This is the story of the beginning of my love affair
with online Blackjack.
It started just over 5 years ago when I entered the lobby of an
online casino
I've
long forgotten the name of (there have been too many over the years to keep track off).
It must have been pretty good though because I remember being impressed with
the general layout and design.
As soon as my $150 deposit was cleared in my account, I checked out the casino's many
gambling games, purposefully heading towards the online
Blackjack games.
At this point perhaps I should mention that ever since I was in my early
twenties I have been a gambling fanatic (although a responsible one I am pleased
to report).
However, one casino gambling game in particular always interested me more than
the others, a game that has not left my thoughts for longer than a few hours
since, the game of Blackjack.
But back to the story and the beginning of my love affair with online Blackjack.
I had found the
list of Blackjack games and I felt my adrenalin beginning to boil inside me.
I chose a simple, single-deck game with medium to high stakes, and settled in
preparing to 'break the casino'.
Over the next 35 minutes, with sweaty palms and shortness of breath, I managed
to plow through all but $5 of my original $150. Now admittedly I am not too shabby a
Blackjack player, but on that day my nerves seemed to get the better of me.
I was down to my last five bucks!
If the above scenario was in a Hollywood movie, Matt Damon would be playing me
and as he bet his last $5. The camera would zoom into the dealer's hands in slow
motion, showing him dealing Matt a much-needed and desired natural Blackjack!
Two scenes later, Matt would be up $250 000 large!
But not being a Hollywood movie, I busted on my last hand, losing all $150
smackers. Wallop!
However, I soon realized that it was the best thing that could've happened to me.
Why you may ask? Because I knew that in my first ever online Blackjack
experience, I had 'bottomed-out' completely and from there the only way to go was up.
Since that game, I have won and lost thousands of dollars playing online
Blackjack but have come out ahead more often than not.
It's just part of the game of Blackjack and that's why I love it so much.
