Basic Online Blackjack EtiquetteYou may have noticed the title of this article and wondered just how 'online
Blackjack etiquette' could possibly be relevant seeing as how online
gamblers play by themselves at home or at the office.
Well, believe it or not, but as in land casinos, etiquette does exist in the
world of online gambling, particularly with respect to games that have 'player
chat' facilities such as Blackjack and Poker.
In a land casino, for example, you never hand your money to be changed into
chips to the dealer. Instead you place it front of you and once the dealer has
announced his intentions to change the money (for the benefit of his pit boss),
he will take your money, count it and convert into chips. That is good Blackjack
etiquette.
Also, at a live Blackjack table, you never touch your cards - unlike in poker.
Obviously some of these rules of etiquette don't apply online but there are
others that do. For example, if using the chat facility always be polite to your
fellow players.
If someone compliments you on a good hand or asks you a question about your
betting or strategy, answer them politely. This is not to say give away your
secrets, but simply be polite in your answers and you will earn the respect of
your fellow players.
Always bear in mind that the majority of people play online Blackjack because it
is fun and entertaining but, most importantly, to win money and that's serious
business!
The last thing a focused online gambler wants is to be at a table with someone
who uses foul language or is rude and insulting. The rule of thumb, like the old
proverb, is treat those around you as you would like to be treated.
